Program Overview
M.A. Economics or Master of Arts in Economics is a postgraduate Economics Course. Economics includes a comprehensive and thorough study of Economics as a discipline at an advance level. This postgraduate degree course generally covers the study of principles of economic theory, micro and macro economics, econometrics, quantitative analytical methods, applications to specific industries and public policy issues.

Value of Master of Economics Degree

Curriculum
MA in Economics - The Master of Economics is a postgraduate master's degree in economics comprising training in economic theory, econometrics and / or applied economics.
M.A. (Economics) has the duration of two years consisting four semesters. Each academic year shall comprise two semesters starting from July-August to December and January to June. The university conducts the examination at the end of each semester. For each paper 80 marks allotted for university exam and 20 marks for internal assessment.

Master of Economics Application Process
- Applications will be available from May 2017 onwards for the academic year AUG 2017 – JUL 2019.
- Download the application form from the website https://www.lorven.college/admissions/ or collect the application form from the college directly by remitting Rs 500/-
- Fill the application and hand it over at the college office in person or through post.
- Note: if the application form is downloaded directly from the website then a DD worth Rs 500/- has to be attached along with the application form.
- Selection will be based on merit.
Requirements to Apply
- A candidate who has passed Bachelor of Arts.
- Marks secured minimum of 40% in aggregate of all subjects and 50% in cognate (Economics) subject (45% for SC/ST candidates), is eligible for admission.
